About Us
What is GD Prodigy?
GD Prodigy was founded by Garai Fields and Duane Redmond in 2018 as a basketball training business serving as a vehicle for the youth to reach towards their goals. While also being High School Varsity Basketball Coaches, we aim to enrich the moral fiber of everyone we have the pleasure of encountering.

From the east coast, to the west coast. North to South, basketball has such a rich culture. Our sports wear line seeks to honor all eras and styles. Offering fashion pieces and sports wear for Women, Men, and Children. All designs are meant to inspire, promote positivity, and keep you fresh. Whether that's on the court getting buckets, or living everyday life. It's never a bad option to look and feel like a Prodigy!
AAU, YMCA, & Other Community Involvement
One thing we take a huge amount of pride in is our emphasis on giving back to our community. Since fully establishing ourselves in 2020, we have been able to partner with the Ann Arbor YMCA to host cost-effective basketball camps, 1 on 1 and group basketball training sessions, as well as an AAU Program called YMCA-Prodigy.
We also are involved with the community organization People First Collective based out of Ypsilanti, MI started by our very own Shane Williams. The Collective comes together to donate canned goods, clothes, bedding, books, home essentials. Help repaint, rebuild, and repair communities. Hosts classes and rallies to help educate impoverished or less fortunate communities on societal norms, political events, etc.
GD Prodigy currently has one Lady Prodigy AAU program for girls, offering a 15u, 16u, and 17u team. We are always welcoming new players, coaches, and contributors that are looking for something pure and positive to be apart of!
Aside from AAU basketball and training, coaches Garai and Duane also currently coach at Ann Arbor Huron High School in Ann Arbor, MI. Coach G being the esteemed head varsity coach, and Coach D is the hungry Junior Varsity Head Coach. Building from the bottom all the way to the top!
